I and Thou in Dialogue: Becoming More Relational in Couple Therapy
Просмотров 617 месяцев назад
Couple therapy is unique in its focus on improving relationships. However, it can be challenging for therapists to think in relational terms when the language of Western therapy models is derived from individually-oriented theory and culture. For example, medicine and psychology use language of individual assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and even satisfaction. When couples talk of love, loss, ...

It is a crime that people are drugged for years, given a label & a webster pack & a pension, and left alone to spiral down. People are essentially being medicated for an emotional reaction which is a human response to emotional distress - which can play havoc with thinking & memory : hence - psychosis. Psychosis is an emotional crisis. Not a brain disease or payhology of any kind. Please see Jaakko Seikkula's videos here on RUclips. Thank you, Ben Ong, for bringing this approach to people in Australia. We badly need it here to help & stop harming people with damaging labels & heavy medications which in many cases, just makes people worse.

You value your ideological mission over the well-being of your clients, intensely working backwards to shoehorn the supposed causes, rarely treatable, of their difficulties into a critical perspective. You are an evil person, consumed with immense arrogance and destructive self-centeredness masquerading as caring.

As a 65yo in a relationship that began at 16, I'm curious about how closely your analysis aligns with my observations and experience, and how well you navigated the blind spots caused by bias and unscrutinized assumptions (which can often seep into what is otherwise a good faith endeavor).

I came upon Open dialogue a number of years ago through Russell Razzaque. But I couldn't find it in the US at that time. My question is while I understand that the most severe cases need attention, those that are not considered so severe really NEED this kind of approach. I hope to make a direct connection with someone who does this with adults who are living lives of quiet desperation.....and want very much to live full lives with the purpose they are sooo very passionate about.....but never seem to be able to actualize trying to utilize this absolutely broken a miserable American medical system.

Hello, 🦩🦩🦩May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

Thank you kindly for this insight. I recently experienced a roller coaster of emotions from a friend with bipolar disorder and possibly borderline personality disorder? I don’t know what to call it, like someone being possessed by an evil spirit? I don’t want to shame anyone with a mental health condition as I have my own personal mental health issues. I wish I had a magic wand to bring my friend out of this darkness but I am powerless. I know I can be sensitive when someone is getting upset with me. However it is down right scary for me being on the receiving end of someone else’s anger towards me when it is unwarranted. I love my friend very much but all I can do is pray and hope that she gets the help she needs. I am doing my best to research and educate myself on this subject matter. I was being love bombed one week and then a few days later things went south and sideways all at the same time. It is very confusing for me, and at this moment I need to seek help from a therapist for myself and get a professional opinion before my E.T. Heart light goes out . I guess the question that I have is if someone has a bipolar disorder and they are taking medication should they be smoking pot? I know that alcohol is not good because it can dehydrate the brain. My love lies bleeding 😢

Quit whining and man up. We become and succumb to our prevalent thoughts. Every thought is a decision, and with those thoughts we program our minds. Optimism is the conscious effort to succeed. Pessimism is the subconscious desire to fail. In that failure we seek to place blame on others for our failure to act.

I am so grateful and excited to see this topic is being given research time and energy! My sibling was sexually abused but I was not and have always felt deeply impacted by knowing that my father sexually abused my sibling from a very young age. I have never seen any information about the impact on the siblings. I have found that I identify with sexual abuse recovery narratives and sexual abuse survivors symptoms although I wasn't abused myself and have had a hunch that some kind of secondary trauma can happen. I would be so grateful to learn more and find my experience validated as something that happens to people in my demographic. (I was 6 when I learned my dad was a pedophile). I have always wanted some kind of group therapy to process with other siblings of the sexual abuse survivor our particular and unique pain as not directly abused but very much impacted by the knowledge of sexual violence in our families, in our homes- for me, just two feet across the hall from where I slept. I grew up with this feeling that my house was haunted by this horrific event that happened in my home. I have so much I could say about how this impacted me hugely. I'm really looking forward to reading the research article! I'll also add that the lack of support services, therapy groups, an easy name for our experience even, really contributes to this sense of isolation and difficulty getting support. The number of times I've been asked "were you sexually abused?" in a therapy intake and stumbled through the answer, "well, I wasn't but my sibling was, in our home, by our dad" and then there is no follow up from the therapist/intake coordinator or I'm told that I don't qualify as a CSA survivor and then can't receive services...it has given me the feeling over the years that this event shouldn't have been traumatic for me or that it's strange that I need support with this massive aspect of my life (having a pedophile for a father). Can't tell you enough how deeply validating and exciting it is that psychologists are finally looking into folks like me!

Then when I realize that was a dream I become the happiest person. I was between 20 and 25 years old when this happened.
